Tides of Autumn
You lay on the frozen ground
That autumn
Your last lightning, lost days crowned
With all the leaves of autumn
On the wind that snaps the curtain, I can fly
Lighted by the jack o' lantern's flickering eye...
Summer games grow sad played into autumn
Childhood seems so fragile
In the dwindling days of autumn
Winelike, golden-mead-like leaflike, I am free
Jack o' lantern cackling in the witness tree...
You were undone
So they asked me
How well did you know her?
Can you be sure that it's her?
I still stand revealed
At dusk in autumn
What the years like leaves concealed
Bared at first pang of autumn.
From the window, I still see you as you lay
I could close my eyes, step out, and fly away...
I leave fading flowers here each autumn
I shall warn my children
To beware the tides of autumn
